Copper electroformed vintage skeleton key with handmade heart-shaped borosilicate glass cab.

This key’s heart-shaped borosilicate glass cabochon was created by me in the flame, attached to a vintage skeleton key, and then electroformed. The teal (with a hint of orange) “flower” appears to float on the pale green background.

Electroforming is the process of transferring a copper form (vs a thin copper plate) onto an object. The multi-step process for this particular key took approximately 14 hours. The copper has been patinated to complete the Olde World look. It measures approximately 3 inches from top to bottom.

This is for the electroformed key only.

This off-white with purple and blue accents enameled copper pendant is framed by an Antique Bronze bezel setting. It measures approximately 1 inch in diameter and hangs from a delicate 22 inch gunmetal chain, which can be shortened upon request. In order to achieve this look, I cut a disk out of copper sheet and fired vitreous glass enamels multiple times in the kiln.

All of my glass is created by me in my little studio in New England. While the enameling process has been digitally controlled in the kiln, enamels are glass and may break if dropped or struck against a hard surface…like slate tile floors (don’t ask how I know). My glass jewelry is not intended for children.
